LATISSE® in Chicago, IL

Smiling woman with long eyelashes, related to LATISSE treatment.

Tired of fussing with falsies, extensions, and mascara that never quite deliver? If your natural lashes feel sparse, short, or pale, there’s a prescription solution that does the heavy lifting for you — no glue, no daily strips, no upkeep beyond a quick swipe before bed. LATISSE® is the only FDA-approved treatment clinically proven to grow longer, thicker, and darker lashes, and it works with your own follicles to deliver real, measurable results.

At Old Town Med Spa, the MD Brothers — Dr. Nael Gharbi and Dr. Shazel Gharbi — are among Chicago’s top cosmetic physicians, board-certified in Aesthetic Medicine and trusted by thousands of patients since 2015. Their expertise ensures your LATISSE regimen is prescribed safely, monitored closely, and tailored to deliver the lashes you’ve always wanted.

What Is LATISSE?

LATISSE is a prescription-strength bimatoprost ophthalmic solution that extends the growth phase of your eyelashes while increasing the number of hairs your follicles produce. It’s the first and only FDA-approved treatment for inadequate or insufficient lashes, also known as hypotrichosis. Because it’s a true medication — not a cosmetic serum — it must be prescribed and monitored by a qualified provider.

The Clinically Proven Benefits

In clinical trials, LATISSE delivered visible, measurable improvements to natural lashes:

  • 106% thicker and fuller lashes

  • 25% longer lashes

  • 18% darker lashes

Most patients begin to see preliminary growth within a few weeks, with full results visible after a 16-week course of nightly application.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Latisse Before and After

LATISSE is FDA-approved for most adults who want fuller, more dramatic lashes without extensions or strip lashes. It is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you already use bimatoprost to treat glaucoma, or if you have certain pre-existing eye conditions. During your consultation, your provider will review your medical history and confirm that LATISSE is a safe match for you.

How to Use LATISSE

Each evening, use the single-use applicator that comes with the medication to apply a thin line directly to the base of your upper lash line — never to the lower lid. Remove contact lenses first and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. If excess product builds up, simply blot it away with a clean cloth. If you miss a dose, don’t double up; just resume your normal schedule the next night.

Possible Side Effects

LATISSE is generally well tolerated, but possible side effects include red eyes, mild irritation, darkened eyelid skin, and, rarely, darkened iris color. Most effects resolve once treatment stops, though iris darkening may be permanent. Keep in mind that if you discontinue LATISSE, your lashes will gradually return to their original length and fullness.
