What is Pearl Laser?
Pearl Laser is a deep fractional laser treatment that renews the skin’s surface, improving wrinkles, uneven skin texture, discoloration, and other signs of skin aging and damage by delivering intense heat to the treatment area.

What is the Pearl Laser treatment like?
During Pearl Laser treatment, the top layer of skin is treated with pulses of light and the deeper layers of skin are heated. During treatment, you may feel fast, hot pinches as the laser pulses. This laser clears out damaged skin and collagen to allow new, rejuvenated collagen to reach the skin surface.
This treatment stimulates your body’s own collagen production, which rejuvenates the skin. This new collagen production reduces the appearance of wrinkles and other imperfections.
A topical numbing cream will be applied before the treatment to alleviate most of the discomfort. Treatments typically take 30-60 minutes. Because this is a more intensive laser treatment, one of our doctors will perform the procedure, instead of our aestheticians that perform other lighter laser treatments.
How does the Pearl Laser treatment work?
Pearl Fractional laser treatment stimulates your body’s own collagen-producing process to plump the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and other imperfections.
During treatment, you will feel fast, hot pinches as the laser pulses place tiny holes in the skin and selectively remove columns of damaged tissue. The treatment stimulates your body's natural process for creating new collagen, plumping the skin from below to reverse the appearance of skin imperfections, which may shorten healing time.
A topical anesthetic cream will be applied prior to treatment to alleviate most of the discomfort, but some light pain can still be expected.
What can I expect after the Pearl Laser Treatment?
Following the Pearl Laser treatment, your face may look and feel sunburned. Your skin may peel a few days after the treatment. It’s important to avoid wearing makeup until your skin completes the peeling process.
The results after the treatment can be seen within the weeks following the treatment as the skin rejuvenates and more collagen is produced.
Am I a candidate for Pearl Laser?
Ideal candidates for Pearl Laser treatment are those with light to medium skin tones and skin imperfections due to:
- Acne scars
- Deep wrinkles
- Sun damage
Unfortunately, this treatment cannot be done on dark skin tones because it puts the patient at risk for hypopigmentation.
Results and Recovery
Many patients see noticeable improvement to their skin within one week after treatment. Maximum results are visible within one to three months post-treatment. Patients may apply makeup five days after treatment, or one heavy peeling subsides.
Many patients have a Pearl Fractional treatment in combination with other existing cosmetic therapies to maximize their treatment results and outcome. These corresponding treatments include the Cutera laser and light procedures, such as Laser Genesis, and IPL.
