If you’re getting a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), it’s important that you know how to prepare for surgery. At Old Town Med Spa, our team is here to help you feel confident, and we’re proud that you’re considering us for your procedure. If you haven’t reached out to us yet, we’re excited to talk with you about how we can help you feel your best.
Ideal Candidates
Patients may undergo a BBL if they wish to enhance the appearance and volume of their buttocks without the use of implants. Our team offers both traditional BBLs and non-surgical BBLs that use filler in place of fat taken and deposited from another part of the body.
You should be in good general health to receive a BBL and be a healthy weight to ensure we can harvest enough for the procedure.
Patients with overall good health with a healthy weight are good candidates for BBL. It is also important to consider future weight loss plans before a BBL to ensure that you maintain the best possible results.
How To Prepare for a BBL
We will provide you with instructions to help you prepare for treatment. Common practices before undergoing a Brazilian butt lift include:
- Stopping alcohol and tobacco use
- Following a healthy diet
- Drinking enough water throughout the day
- Maintaining a healthy weight
- Preparing your recovery space
Activities To Avoid Before a BBL
Patients who are planning to undergo a Brazilian butt lift must maintain a healthy weight to ensure there is enough fat to extract for the procedure. You should also avoid taking any blood thinners, including non-prescription medications and consuming alcohol.
Patients who require prescription blood thinners should discuss this with their plastic surgeon prior to treatment. You may also need to discontinue certain herbal and vitamin supplements that can increase the risk of bleeding.
